Pittco sticker contest 2012 graphic

Update 26 October 2012: We’re postponing the ending of the contest until December 15, 2012. This is just in time for the approximate start of the Steam Holiday Sale. So, get your entries in by 11:59 pm December 15 in order to qualify!

We know that you love Pittco, and we want to see it. We want to see you share your love for Pittco and LAN parties with the world! And, we’re going to reward you for it.

We want you to take a picture of your Pittco sticker in an permanent, awesome place. Then, post it somewhere on a social media site. That’s Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, etc. Tag Pittsburgh LAN Coalition on Facebook or mention it (@pittcolan on Twitter and Instagram or +Pittsburgh LAN Coalition on Google Plus and use the hashtag #lanparty to make it stand out). Hosting the picture on Flickr or Imgur or Picasa or Twitpic, etc. is alright, but you need to share it on a social media site for your entry to count.

What can you win? We will randomly select two entries from the valid entries on the contest form to win a $20 Steam gift card (or Steam gift game up to $20) just in time for the annual Steam holiday sale. Additionally, the staff will pick one particularly awesome entry to receive a $50 gift certificate for Steam, Amazon, or NewEgg.

Where should you put the sticker? On your desktop? Boringly cold. On your laptop lid or arm rest? Getting warmer. On your car? Hotter than the muzzle of a machine after emptying a clip! Be creative, be unique. We’ll be choosing the best entry to receive $50 gift certificate for Steam, NewEgg, or Amazon!

Don’t have a sticker? We’ve got you covered. Send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Pittsburgh LAN Coalition, PO Box 8149, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. We’ll return your envelope with a Pittco sticker inside so that you can participate in the contest. Do this sooner than later, because it may take several days for the envelope to get to us and get back to you.

Want more than one sticker? Send us a cool sticker — we’ll exchange! Want more than two stickers, or don’t have a sticker to exchange? Send us a check or money order made out to Pittsburgh LAN Coalition for $1 for each sticker. Want 5 extra stickers? $5. Want 10? $10. Want to send BTC instead? Tweet at us and we’ll hook you up.

So, here’s the skinny on what you need to do to be entered:

  1. Get a Pittco sticker. Send a SASE to Pittsburgh LAN Coalition, PO Box 8149, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 if you need a sticker or ask our staff for one if you see them out somewhere. Some of us carry them!
  2. Put that Pittco sticker somewhere awesome.
  3. Take a picture of where you’ve put that Pittco sticker.
  4. Post that picture on a social media site (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, etc.), tagging or mentioning Pittco (so we can retweet or share it).
  5. Fill out the contest entry form, including the public link to your post.
  6. ???
  7. Have a shot at winning $20 for Steam or $50 for Steam, NewEgg, or Amazon at just the right time of year!
Do this all before 23:59 on December 15, 2012 in order to have a shot at winning.

Official rules, a.k.a the fine print:

No purchase is necessary. To be eligible to win, you must supply Pittsburgh LAN Coalition (Pittco) with link on a social media site (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus) to a digital photograph depicting at minimum an official Pittco tripentagram logo sticker and be over the age of 13 as of October 1, 2012. One entry per person. Pittco staff may submit entries, but another winner will be chosen if a staff member is randomly chosen. All pictures must be posted and all entries must be received via the contest entry form between 00:00 October 1, 2012 and 23:59 on December 15, 2012. Two winners will be selected at random for second prizes. Pittco staff will judge entries based on originality, creativity, and presence of the Pittco logo and select one first prize winner. The decision is final. Winners will be notified by December 17, 2012. Prizes: one (1) first prize $50 gift card or gift purchase for winner’s choice of Steam online store (http://store.steampowered.com) or $50 gift card for NewEgg (http://newegg.com) or Amazon (http://amazon.com) online stores, two (2) second prize $20 USD gift cards or gift purchase for Steam. Total value of prizes: $90 USD. Contest void where prohibited by law. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes associated with prize winnings. Prizes unclaimed after November 30, 2012 will be awarded to another randomly selected entrant. While not a condition of entry, prize winners may be required to provide a physical mailing address in order to receive their prize. Entrants outside of the United States are responsible for knowing if gift cards or gifts are usable in their country. Pittco is not responsible for unredeemable prizes; all entrants are assumed to have a working Steam account in good standing. Many will enter, only three will win. These contest rules will not change unless required by law, in which case all entrants will be notified and this sentence will be changed to indicate the changes made.

Pittco may continue to respond to sticker requests to Pittsburgh LAN Coalition, P.O. Box 8149, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 until December 31, 2012. Mail received after then will be returned by the USPS. Sticker requests received without a self-addressed stamped envelope may not be fulfilled. Sticker requests sent to the official business P.O. Box will be ignored and discarded. Pittco is not responsible for lost, stolen, or delayed mail. Please allow 7-10 business days to receive your SASE once sent, so act quickly!

Pittsburgh LAN Coalition is unaffiliated with Valve Software, Steam, NewEgg, or Amazon. All marks are owned by their respective owners. Pittsburgh LAN Coalition is the sole sponsor of this contest. Pittsburgh LAN Coalition is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation. Questions and concerns should be directed via email, but the law requires us to explicitly state that our mailing address is P.O. Box 13141, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Do not send sticker requests to this address.
